Program Description and Who We’re Seeking:
Our Simba Mentor Program is uniquely curated for youth identifying as Black boys, and we are seeking Black and other Men of Color to serve as mentors, fostering individual relationships, implementing creative programming initiatives, and nurturing community bonds. Currently, we are recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers to serve as mentors for six months as part of our mentor Cohort, "60 for Six."
Objective:
The "60 for Six" initiative aims to recruit, train, and support 60 community members to mentor youth involved with Franklin County Children Services over a six-month period.
Why Volunteer With Us?
Your involvement directly addresses an urgent need for mentorship. Many youth are currently on our waiting list, and with your help, we can extend our services to impact even more young lives. As a volunteer mentor, you’ll receive all the training, guidance, and support you need to make a meaningful difference. We provide a structured framework for mentors and mentees, offering FREE cultural, educational, and social activities to encourage growth and build connections.
How It Works:
Volunteers will receive mentor training and support before being matched and engaging with their mentee in meaningful cultural, educational, and social activities, facilitating personal and professional growth for the youth involved – all at no cost to the Volunteer.
