We are excited this year to host the Serve Ohio MLK Day of Service/Celebration that will involve a Community Service Day combined with an MLK Birthday Celebration and evening online concert on Facebook "Live". We were able to secure a small grant from SERVEOHIO (from the State of Ohio) to help cover our expenses for service day event and we are thrilled to have local minister Michael Jett of Mt. Zion Baptist of Steubenville who started (and currently leads) the Generation Now youth ministry share a brief reflection on MLK and Community Service. Youth groups, businesses, individuals are all welcome to help out with the Day of Community service events which will involve cleaning, painting, light yard work (if weather permits) sorting of food and clothing etc. Those working at the Service Day will be required to follow state guidelines concerning COVID. We will be working at the Urban Mission, the Sycamore Center and a number of area residents homes that are owned by elderly persons who need help. The evening Online concert lineup is stellar and will have a number of Valley's Got Talent Prize winners including Brent Kimball, Elisha Fletcher, The Ambassadors Mime Team, Darrin Holt, Glory Dami and a number of other local acts.
