Purpose: Assist with the recruitment and development of volunteers and donors from diverse communities in order to support all the branches of the Red Cross mission. Educate and inform the community about the Red Cross mission and mobilize them to support it.
Responsibilities:
• Punctual and dependable in arriving for assignments
• Attached local outreach opportunities to present, table or canvass.
Opportunities may include: faith-based events, health fairs, community fairs,
speaking engagements, blood drives
• Present volunteer recruitment materials and information to the community (both in-person and/or virtually)
• Encourage community members to volunteer; schedule events as appropriate
• Correspond regularly with Volunteer Services staff to ensure information
shared is up-to-date and relevant; share feedback in a timely manner
Qualifications:
• Willingness to support Red Cross mission
• Ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations, including
specific language needs
• Excellent communication, customer service and public relations abilities
• Ability to relate to community members in a pleasant and courteous manner
