ASAS Cleveland is seeking a passionate and talented Community Outreach Specialist to build community and improve recruitment and retention for our programming sites. As well as providing free resources and exposure to opportunities for the families we serve. The role supports the following locations:
Woodhill Station West
Fairfax Recreation Center
Glenville High School
Horizon Science Academy High School
Zelma Watson George Recreation Center
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicate with members of the community and inform them of the After-School All-Stars offerings using great costumer service.
Attend community events and meetings.
Plan and create events such as tabling, family, and parent engagement events.
Manage and engage tables for outreach events.
Meet with schools and other organizations.
IMPACT AND COUTCOMES:
This role helps increase awareness of programs and resources available to studnets while building strong relationships between schools, families and community organizations.
TRAINING & SUPPORT:
Periodic team meetings.
Ongoing professional development.
Support from program staff.
Hands-on experience in community outreach and event planning.
COMMITMENT:
- Volunteering at least once a week for a minimum of 3 months (1 session)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with Cleveland neighborhoods is preferred (Buckeye-Woodhill, Fairfax, Glenville)
Must have reliable transportation.
Experience working with youth, families, or community organizations is preferred.
