Brown Hands Literacy

Brown Hands Literacy is a literacy and cultural education organization dedicated to helping children—especially Black children—see themselves in books, media, and learning experiences. Through children’s books, storytelling, literacy programming, and HBCU-centered education, we introduce young people to Historically Black Colleges and Universities at an early age while building confidence, identity, and a love for reading.

Brown Hands Literacy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to educate and empower the youth and families about Historically Black Colleges and Universities while also building a love for literacy through diverse children's books, HBCU literacy experiences, and films.
