American Cancer Society Discovery Shop

The Discovery Shop in Chardon, Ohio is a large thrift boutique offering a wide selection of clothing, jewelry, housewares, books, furniture, and more! We are 99% volunteer run, and we depend on volunteers in order to keep raising money for the American Cancer Society. This fiscal year, we have already raised $740,000 that goes to cancer research and supporting the Hope Lodge, where cancer patients can stay for free while receiving treatment. We are in need of volunteers to process donations, keep the shop clean, and work the register while interacting with our customers. Come join the team!

Since 1965, Discovery Shop locations have been providing customers a way to fuel our mission through reselling donated items in a boutique-like shopping experience. Each location offers a collection of high-quality locally donated merchandise. With 60 locations across California (45), Ohio (6), Washington (5), Iowa (2), Virginia (3), and Michigan (1), as well as an online presence on eBay, Discovery Shop generates $27.5 million in proceeds annually, and 100% of the net profits go to support the American Cancer Society's goal to "End cancer as we know it for everyone."
