Who We Are
The McSherry Family in Boston Massachusetts started the Jett Foundation after their five year old son Jett was diagnosed with Duchenne in 2001 at the age of 5. Since then the Jett Foundation has raised over $16 million to support biomedical research and offers direct services. Programs include virtual engagement & educational programs, Jett giving fund , Family Workshops, Community Webinars, Camp Promise, Camp Promise Retreat, Community Ambassadors, and Biotech collaborations with industry partners.
What We Do
Our mission at Jett Foundation is to extend and enrich the lives of individuals affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular disorders. We fulfill this mission by partnering with individuals and families through empowering educational programming, transformational direct service experiences, and by accelerating the development of life-changing treatments. In Ohio we also offer the Camp Promise Retreat program. Young adults 18 and over with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular diseases are eligible to apply for our free summer camp retreat. The program includes regular camp activities and educational programs targeted for young adults. In Ohio the retreat is held at Akron Rotary Camp. Volunteers are needed for the retreat to be counselors, medical staff, and program staff. Additional volunteers are always needed for special events and fundraising.
