Who We Are

CERT volunteers learn to search, rescue, triage, and treat survivors in an effort to save as many lives as possible. FC CERT volunteers may be activated as a team by Franklin County Emergency Management and Homeland Security to support local response and recovery efforts.

What We Do

The Franklin County Community Emergency Response Team is a civil defense-based volunteer organization designed to provide personal and community preparedness information. The CERT Basic Training is designed to take care of yourself, your family, and your neighbors or co-workers during and after major emergencies or disasters when first responders are not immediately available to help. Disaster survivors may be on their own for 72 hours, or longer, until professional first responders arrive to help. The organization can also be called to service by Franklin County Emergency Management and Homeland Security to provide response and recovery efforts during major emergencies and disasters.
