Who We Are
The Salvation Army was founded in London by William Booth. Booth recognized that in order to help an individual with spiritual growth, they first required that their basic needs be met, such as shelter and food. Thus began a journey to help those in need across the world, now in 127 countries worldwide. Founded in Massillon in 1885, The Salvation Army works to provide emergency services, including rent, mortgage, utilities, food, clothing and housing referrals to the residents of Western Stark County. Seasonal programs include Back to School supplies, Thanksgiving Day fellowship and Christmas Assistance with gifts and food. A lunchtime hot meal is served every Friday. The Salvation Army of Massillon also offers youth social development classes, adult living skills classes, Bible study, worship services and more.
What We Do
At The Salvation Army of Massillon we strive to provide services that enable our clients to have a better quality of life. We do this by serving and supplying nutritious food for their health and a peace of mind in knowing where they can get help.
