Help bring the comfort of a meal to older adults by greeting drivers and helping to load their cars with home delivered meals. Volunteers assemble prepackaged meals into hot packs and coolers to be loaded into delivery vehicles. Our Meal Delivery Assistant is the perfect volunteer opportunity for people who are friendly, organized, and looking to make an impact in their community!

Are you interested in making a difference in young people's lives? Join AmeriCorps Mentors for Success to serve as a positive role model and provide much-needed school-based mentoring for middle or high-school students right here in Columbus, Ohio! Mentors are placed in one middle or high school building or other community setting for the fall, where they will provide 1 on 1 mentoring for students who are experiencing attendance/truancy issues and/or students who could use some social-emotional support.

Serve with AmeriCorps (term is September 1, 2031 - May 31, 2024), earn a monthly stipend payment ($1,350/month) and an Education Award (up to $3,447.50) to help repay student loans or pay toward tuition costs!

AmeriCorps Mentors for Success Members receive excellent training at the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio, prior to the start of their service in schools.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butler County seeks adults from our community to be volunteer mentors ("Bigs") for children and youth in Butler County. There are approximately 100 youth who are waiting for a mentor.

Being a mentor is about spending time with a child and inspiring them to fulfill their potential. We pair a volunteer mentor one-to-one with a child and we call this a match. Once matched, Big Brothers and Big Sisters develop friendships with their Little Brothers and Little Sisters. It’s that simple. 

Our Community-Based Bigs and Littles meet 2 to 4 times a month out in the community and the time spent together is flexible to fit your busy schedule. You can hang out in the community and go to a park, an event, a restaurant, or many other possibilities. It’s up to you and your Little! This volunteer opportunity is open to adults aged 18 and older who live or work in or near Butler County. Volunteers must be able to commit to at least one year.

The Preble County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) utilizes volunteers during non-emergency and emergency events.  Various opportunities and skillsets are needed to assist the EMA.

United Way of Portage County invests funds into valuable community programs through the dollars raised during the annual campaign. This allocation of grants is performed with volunteer panels who review grant applications, complete site visits and make recommendations for funding. These key Grant Review Volunteers engage in a multi-year selection and review process that match community needs, evidence based best practices and program interventions to ensure the best outcomes for residents in our community. We are looking for compasionate people who want to work with adults with developemental disabilities in the community. On a weekly basis we take a small group of no more than 5 out into the community for various activities. Activities include moviess, the zoo, amusement parks, or out to eat with friends. 

Join us wherever you are to write cards filled with hope, healing and solidarity for survivors of traumatic experiences and PTSD!

We are currently collecting cards to distribute to patients at Linder Center of HOPE, a nonprofit, mental health center in Cincinnati, OH.

Cards will be distributed to individual survivors across the globe, as well as organizations that serve survivors of trauma across Southwestern Ohio and surrounding areas.  Past organizations include: YWCA of Greater Cincinnati and Dayton, Tristate Trauma Network, Lighthouse Youth & Family Services, the Cincinnati VA, Walleyes for Wounded Heroes and Kaleidoscope Youth Center.

This is a great volunteering opportunity for those with any skill set, disability status or age. It can even be used as a form of self-care, art therapy or mindfulness practice! This is a great opportunity to discuss PTSD and mental health awareness with your family, friends or group.

The Jackson County CERT is actively recruiting volunteers to be involved with CERT activities in Jackson County, Ohio and surrounding counties. 

Being a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters is a fun, rewarding experience. The only thing that would make it better is to volunteer with someone you know! This is a great opportunity for couples, friends, siblings or other "dynamic duos" who want to be more involved in their community in 2023.

Big Duos are two people who volunteer together as mentors for either one or two children ("Littles"). Being a Big Duo is the same as being an individual Big Brother or Big Sister - you get together with your Little 2 to 4 times each month engaging in fun, enriching activities that you and your Little both enjoy - you're just volunteering with another person instead of alone.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butler County is accepting applications for high school and college students to be on-site mentors for elementary-aged youth. 

Being a part of our evidence-based mentoring program is easy, and providing encouragement to children has never been more important. This is a fun and convenient way to earn valuable service hours with a nationally-recognized program while also empowering the potential of our community's youth! Volunteer opportunities are available in the Talawanda (Oxford), Hamilton, Fairfield, Edgewood (Trenton), and Lakota (West Chester) school districts.

Student mentors must be at least 14 years old and be able to commit to the remainder of the academic year. (Programs don't meet during holidays or breaks).

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butler County seeks college students, working adults, or retirees to be volunteer mentors for teens from across Butler County.

The Big Futures Program is a career-focused mentoring program that empowers junior and senior high school students to plan for a successful life and career beyond high school. As a Big Futures volunteer mentor, you will be paired with a student and engage in activities that support that student's positive development and goals for their future.

Big Futures "Bigs" and "Littles" meet twice each month, including the option of joining educational or career-focused group outings or activities organized by Big Brothers Big Sisters. Such activities may include a tour of a local business or a presentation from a professional about a specific career path.

Big Futures volunteer mentors must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation, and be able to commit to at least one year of service. All interested mentors must complete an application, provide references, successfully pass a criminal background check and driving records check, and submit to a screening interview. Multiple employees from individual companies are welcome and encouraged to apply, as are retirees. We seek representatives from all industries, including the trades.

Do you love sports? Do you love sharing the joy and benefits of sports with young people? Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butler County seeks adult volunteers to be mentors for youth, utilizing a shared interest in sports or fitness as a catalyst for a positive, empowering mentoring relationship.

Sports and fitness promote physical health, emotional health, positive social development, and a sense of community for individuals of all ages, but particularly youth. We are seeking adults from across Butler County who embrace the benefits of sports and fitness to be paired with youth who have expressed an interest in sports, fitness, or just being active. Through this shared interest, mentors help to inspire and empower youth to realize their potential - not just in terms of physical activity, but also in school and in life.

As a volunteer mentor in the Sports Buddies program, you will meet twice per month with your "Little" to engage in positive, fun, free or low-cost activities that enable a healthy and encouraging mentoring relationship to grow. This may include participating in a fitness-oriented activity or attending a sporting event, among other activities. Big Brothers Big Sisters organizes periodic group outings for Sports Buddies participants.

To be a Sports Buddies volunteer mentor, you must be at least 18 years of age, have reliable transportation, and be able to commit to at least one year. All interested mentors must complete an application, supply references, successfully complete a criminal background check and driving records check, and submit to a screening interview. You do not have to be an athlete, nor have any experience in organized sports, to be a Sports Buddies volunteer mentor. Adults who feel comfortable helping students in any subjects would be a great asset to our teens. Students mostly need help finishing their homework or getting caught up on missing assignments. Specific areas of need are Algebra, Chemistry, Geometry, Biology, and Spanish. This volunteering opportunity can be a very flexible schedule. A Connection Recovery Support Group Facilitator leads the conversation in Connection Recovery Support Groups using a NAMI Facilitator Guidebook. 

Alzheimer's Association Community Representatives are community engagers that raise awareness of Alzheimer's Association programs, provide basic disease information, and link consumers to Alzheimer’s Association services.

Key Activities:

• Represent the Alzheimer's Association at a target of 12 community events / year in neighborhoods, rural counties, business and civic organizations or faith communities.

• Offer 20-minute Introduction to Alzheimer’s presentations for community organizations, congregations, civic organizations, sororities / fraternities, clubs and other locations.

• Promote support groups, education programs, Alzheimer & Brain Awareness Month, Walk to End Alzheimer’s, or The Longest Day using your local connections, bulletin boards, social media and physical displays in your community.

• Connect the Alzheimer's Association to new community organizations and connect people with additional Association services and volunteer opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Self-motivated individual that is comfortable reaching out to individuals, organizations and families in need and connecting them to the Alzheimer's Association.

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills and comfort with computers and email.

• Passionate about the Alzheimer’s Association mission with personal or professional experience with dementia preferred.

• Strong listening and effective communication skills with demonstrated success in working with a team.

Long Term Care volunteers provide companionship to all HOC patients in a particular retirement community in your neighborhood 2-4 times per month. We are looking for volunteers all over Butler County. Once you have complete that process you will be contacted about Long Term Care Volunteer opportunities. From there you will set your own schedule to visit at the long term care facilities. In a time of a person's greatest need they could use the kindness and compassion from a volunteer just like you. 

Home Care Volunteers are matched with a patient in their community that needs companionship or respite care 2-4 times per month. We can also use volunteers that are willing to helping patients with light housework and errands. We are looking for volunteers all over Butler County. Once you have complete that process you will be contacted about Home Care Volunteer opportunities. From there you will reach out to the patient and schedule times to set up visits so the schedule is flexible. These presentations change attitudes, assumptions and ideas about people with mental health conditions. These free, 60-minute presentations provide a personal perspective of mental health conditions, as leaders with lived experience talk openly about what it's like to have a mental health condition.

Each Monday afternoon over 100 people living in poverty look forward to a "To-Go" meal provided by generous local groups affiliated with CAIN in Northside. A friendly, organized person is needed to distribute the meals, keep a calendar of groups providing meals and keep all running smoothly. 

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, which suspended operations in Delaware County two years ago as the pandemic worsened, is preparing to return this winter and is looking for volunteers to help restart the service.

The all-volunteer program provides free, no-strings-attached, income tax preparation to anyone, but places a special emphases on serving senior citizens. Before the shutdown, Tax-Aid volunteers prepared tax returns for more than 1,000 residents each year in Delaware, Sunbury, and Orange Township and had just expanded into Ashley.

Volunteers provide a calm and reassuring hand to people who are often fretful about filing their return, make sure clients receive every tax benefit to which they are entitled and save them the often-significant amount of money that private tax preparers charge.

Volunteers make a real, meaningful and measurable difference in the lives of the people they help.

Volunteers come from all walks of life, from accountants to warehouse workers. No experience is required. Tax-Aide provides training, a computer to work on and mentorship throughout the tax season. No one works alone.

Valley View offers after school nature clubs for children in 1st-6th grades.  Nature explorers enjoy hiking and exploring the woods, prairie, wetlands and river.  Our naturalist leads games, art projects and hands-on activities and fun along the trails!  The group size is a maximum of 15 students.  Our naturalist needs an assistant, a second set of hands to help the kids and with the activities. 

Camps are one day a week for six consecutive weeks. 

We offer a Tuesday session (1st-3rd grade) and a Thursday (4th-6th grade) session.    

Volunteers can choose to work either Tuesday or Thursday or are welcome to volunteer for both days.

Volunteer Cosmetologists work directly with patients and their families providing cosmetology services. We are in need of cosmetologists willing to volunteer their time to go to patients homes and long term care facilities to provide haircuts for patients. In some cases this can be a person's last haircut, but it truly provides a sense of normalcy for our hospice patients. If you are interested once you have gone through our volunteering training process we will reach out to you with requests we have received from patients about haircuts. We are in desperate need for Cosmetologist volunteers for our Butler County region so even if you are not a licensed cosmetologists, but you know someone who is and would be willing to help please send them our way.

Each week over 175 families living in poverty visit the CAIN Choice Pantry in Northside for the shelf stable food, fresh produce, hygiene items and cleaning supplies they need. Help is needed to greet guests, direct them to sign-in tables, escort them to the pantry and interact with guests who are waiting in a friendly and efficient manner. 

Storm drain sin your neighborhood are designed to carry water off the roads and into local creeks. On it's journey, it can pick up and transport pollutants such as trash into our streams. During this project, you can label the drains in your neighborhood with "No Polluting:Drains to Creek" decals.

Great for individuals, families, and groups.

No experience necessary.Use a wire brush and rag to clean top of drain. Place glue on back of label and stick to drain. Mark label location on a map.

Time commitment is up to you, you can label as many or as few drains as you like.

When: Anytime the roads are dry and the temperatures are between 40 and 80 oF

Materials: All materials provided. They will need to be picked up from Butler SWCD, in Hamilton. Call to make an appointment.

At Women Helping Women, we provide support services to ALL survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. We are looking for volunteers to provide hospital accompaniment to survivors! 

Our volunteers primarily provide hospital accompaniment to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Volunteers respond to the ER to be with a survivor while they get a sexual assault exam done, by providing emotional support as well as our and community resources. We respond to 8 hospitals in Butler County.

Advocates/volunteers fill out an application (online application link), attend an interview with our volunteer coordinator, and must attend our mandatory 40-hour volunteer training that is offered in the spring and fall each year. Our next training begins the first week in March, spans two weeks (include weekend days and a few weekday evenings), and will be completed in 7 class sessions.

After completing training, volunteers will be required to be on 2 on-call shifts per month. Each shift is 12 hours and is either from 6am-6pm OR 6pm-6am. Your shifts depend on your availability! We also have a mandatory volunteer meeting each month.

At Women Helping Women, we provide support services to ALL survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. We are looking for volunteers to provide hospital accompaniment to survivors! 

Our volunteers help provide court accompaniment to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Court Advocates work at the Domestic Relations Court where survivors seek civil protection orders. Volunteers help with paperwork, attend hearings with survivors, providing emotional support, connect survivors to community resources. We respond to 8 hospitals in Butler County.

Advocates/volunteers fill out an application (online application link), attend an interview with our volunteer coordinator, and must attend our mandatory 40-hour volunteer training that is offered in the spring and fall each year. Our next training begins the first week in March, spans two weeks (include weekend days and a few weekday evenings), and will be completed in 7 class sessions.

After completing training, volunteers will be required to be on 2 on-call shifts per month. Each shift is 4 hours and is either from 8am - 12pm OR 1pm-4pm. Your shifts depend on your availability! We also have a mandatory volunteer meeting each month.

We need volunteers to help in different areas around the Hospital and Clinics. Once a person is cleared to volunteer we work with them to find a department that needs volunteers and aligns with their schedule and interests. Volunteers are required to volunteer a minimum of 2 to 3 hours a week, for three months or more (unless otherwise agreed upon).

Although the specific positions below are not always open, here are some examples of roles a volunteer might have:

Liaison Assistants greet patients and guests upon arrival, answer questions about the hospital, give directions, and assist with the registration line.

Gift Shop Volunteers work in the hospital gift shop located in the main lobby of the hospital building. Volunteers help customers, work the register, take phone calls, and make deliveries. 

Surgery Waiting Room Volunteers help our surgery staff by attending to patient and visitors, maintaining a peaceful environment in the waiting area, answering phone calls, and escorting patients to their surgery location.

Clerical Office Volunteers support clerical and clinical staff with office tasks including answering phones, labeling charts, filing, faxing, and making deliveries, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.

We have several properties that have gardens, and we need volunteers to help us maintain these gardens.  A volunteer can "adopt a garden" and be completely responsible for its maintenance, or can sign up for weeding or planting gardens.

The Allen County R.A.C.E.S. organization was founded in the spring of 2009. The primary responsibility of the Allen County R.A.C.E.S. is to provide emergency communications in the event of a disaster or to augment local governments in Allen County with public communications in the event of an emergency.

The secondary responsibility of the Allen County R.A.C.E.S. organization is to assist the Allen County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management in any way possible to help improve with the efficiency of the agency and service to the public.

WellSpring is looking for Board Members who live and/or work in Champaign County.  Board member duties include meeting six times per year to discuss agency business including the strategic plan and financials.  Board members guide agency direction by evaluating local data and community conditions to make recommendations for agency programming and planning.  Board meetings are held at the Springfield Location at 15 E. Pleasant Street on the third Wednesday of odd number months (January, March, etc) from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Ohio Association of Foodbanks has operated one of Ohio’s largest AmeriCorps VISTA programs since 2006. Through our AmeriCorps VISTA program, ShareCorps, you can find a one-year, full-time position focused on creating meaningful change for people living at or near poverty.

Dedicated team to receive community spontaneous volunteers, record their information, match volunteer skills with community needs, assign members to volunteer jobs, provide safety briefings, and help coordinate transportation with the Emergency Operations Center.  95% of tasks are performed indoors.

The VRC Team works with other community volunteer organizations to establish, operate, and sustain a VRC following a major disaster.

Information: In a time of disaster and crisis, friends, neighbors, families will be enthusiastic to respond to needs in their local area.  As the media plays and replays scenes of the disaster, many people will come forward to volunteer.  Unaffiliated volunteers will show up, whether directed or not.  Unaffiliated volunteers (also known as spontaneous volunteers) are those not associated with any recognized disaster response agency.  However, they may have other training, skills and experience and appear at a disaster site to offer help.  The VRC is used to manage and organize the unaffiliated volunteers during a disaster. These volunteers are processed at the VRC to determine their skill-set and then tasked with assignments where there skills can be utilized for the disaster relief effort.

Dedicated team to enable emergency resource management, accountability of responders and volunteers, and points of distribution (POD) following a disaster (to distribute water, ice, or other materials to affected populations.  90% of tasks are performed outdoors.

Team is activated following a local disaster/emergency, and operates during daylight hours.

This team is activated following a mass casualty event.

General support team for operating a designated location for family members to assemble after a mass fatality incident.  FAC team to work in conjunction with other NGO’s (e.g. Wilmington Area Ministerial Alliance, American Red Cross, et cetera) and the Coroner’s Office.  Four to six hour shifts with 95% of tasks are performed indoors.  

FAC team would focus on FAC opening/closing, behind the scenes coordination of coordination information reporting, resource requests, and FAC communication with the Emergency Operations Center. 

Information:  Clinton County is one of four rural counties in SW Ohio covered by a State Homeland Security Grant (SHSG) to develop a rural county plan, develop a training program, and conduct a FAC exercise by December 2022.  Adams, Brown, Clinton, and Highland Counties are part of this group.

Goal:  To recruit a team that would help guide volunteer organizations in establishing, operating, and sustaining a FAC immediately following a mass casualty incident.

This team trains annually and is activated following a local disaster.  Operational periods are during daylight hours only.

Mobile team who conducts on-location damage assessments post disaster to enable state or federal disaster declaration requests.  Team typically will operate within 72-hours following a disaster and will use mobile devices to capture damage information.  100% of tasks are performed outdoors.

Each four (4) person team would be matched up with a jurisdictional representative (e.g. LE, FD, local gov't employee) to conduct damage assessment in an impacted jurisdiction.  

Goal:  Setup four teams (one each in Blanchester and Sabina, and two in Wilmington), conduct 2.5 hours of initial training in early March, and for teams to be ready for an emergency by mid-March 2022.

Volunteers to help support community events as EMA representatives (e.g. county fair, festivals, et cetera) to promote community preparedness.  Tasks to include booth setup, public engagement, surveys, and more.  Most events are outdoors.

The Community Outreach Team engages with the public to help promote preparedness within Clinton County.

Be My Eyes is a free mobile app with one main goal: to make the world more accessible for blind and low-vision people. The app connects blind and low-vision individuals with sighted volunteers and companies from all over the world through a live video call.

Since we launched in January 2015, more than 2,000,000 volunteers have signed up to assist blind and low-vision users. Be My Eyes users can request assistance in over 180 languages making the app the biggest online community for blind and low-vision people as well as one of the largest micro-volunteering platforms in the world! Every day, volunteers sign onto Be My Eyes to lend their sight to blind and low-vision individuals to tackle challenges and solve problems together.

The Be My Eyes story started in Denmark in 2012 with Hans Jørgen Wiberg, a Danish furniture craftsman, who is visually impaired himself. Through his work at ‘The Danish Association of the Blind’, he recognized that blind or low-vision people often needed a little assistance to solve everyday tasks. When disaster strikes, Digital Volunteers assist the Social Engagement team by:

Digital Volunteers sign up to monitor, engage, and report in four-hour shifts. While this work is done remotely, our Digital Volunteers report directly to the National Headquarters Social Engagement team in coordination with their local chapter communicators.

Due to the time commitment and technical tools involved in this role, there are a few requirements that you must meet before you can get trained to be a Digital Volunteer.

Use your home repair skills to help maintain the homes of low-income seniors and people with disabilities! Join People Working Cooperatively as a field service volunteer and help keep people safely in their own homes. Projects include fixing leaky faucets, replacing broken glass, installing handrails and grab bars, replacing storm doors, making deck and porch repairs, and other minor home repairs. Work during the week or as you are available. Volunteers provide their own tools and transportation, and PWC provides all materials. Help improve the housing conditions of your low-income neighbors make a lasting difference in the community!

Pyramid Hill is looking for long-term volunteer docents for its Ancient Sculpture Museum.

The Ancient Sculpture Museum is open 7 days a week, 12 - 5pm. This facility houses a collection of Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Etruscan and Syrian antiquities. Volunteer docents will be asked to monitor the collection, interact with guests and educate visitors about the collection and further Pyramid Hill's mission of "bringing people to art in nature." Volunteer docents will receive preliminary and continued training on the Pyramid Hill antiquities collection and how to enhance guest experiences at this facility.

Pyramid Hill is proud to offer community service opportunities to people of all backgrounds, abilities and interests. Volunteers who complete more than 10 hours of service will receive a FREE 1-year family membership.

We need more than coaches to make First Tee possible. We rely on volunteers — sometimes year-round — to accomplish our mission, and not all of those goals involve golf. We also need support off the course to deliver our program to kids and teens in the community and recreation centers in our communities. 

Outreach Volunteers assist the First Tee Staff, Coaches, and Youth Leaders at the center by: Providing basic sports instruction, monitoring safety zones, organizing groups, and leading activity stations.

The safety of our kids is our top priority. That is why all volunteers are required to complete a chapter provided background check, and, if applicable, Safesport Training before volunteering.

Field Day Takeovers focus on bringing the First Tee experience to those without access to a golf course. We bring the equipment, staff, and volunteers to deliver an engaging program at a partner facility.

First Tee has partnered with the Cincinnati Recreation Commission and the Tony Yates Junior Golf Academy to host all-immersive life and golf skills program for kids and teens in recreation centers across Greater Cincinnati.

New for 2022 is the Afternoon Community Golf Days program. Like the morning session, First Tee will host kids and teens from recreation and youth centers. However, there will be a greater emphasis on goal setting, managing conflict, and dealing with diversity in addition to golf instruction.

First Tee, we help kids discover what’s inside of them, guide them to strengthen it and mentor them to put it into action in everything they do. 

To do this, we need enthusiastic and caring individuals to serve as positive mentors and role models to kids and teens of various backgrounds. Our coaches’ ability to develop impactful relationships with our participants is the backbone of our program. 

You don’t have to be a golf pro (or even a good golfer), we will provide the training you need! 

Volunteer Coaches on the golf course assist First Tee Head Coaches by: providing basic golf instruction, reinforcing class concepts (life skills), leading activity stations, and monitoring safety zones.

The safety of our kids is our top priority. That is why all volunteers are required to complete a chapter provided background check, Safesport Training, and waiver before volunteering.

Be a friend to homebound individuals on the phone or in person. Play games, have lunch together, catch up on the phone. All activities revolve around friendship and not medical or housekeeping responsibilities. 

Help out at a local food pantry taking client orders on the phone, stocking shelves, customizing pick-up orders, and keeping a log of people served at the pantry. 

Positions are available at the pantry, from home placing orders, and at a distribution site. 

Coordinate your efforts with your co-workers, family, neighbors or community groups to conduct a book drive. Donated books will be used to create new bookshelves and re-stock existing locations. 

The Big Red Bookshelf project places bright red bookshelves, stocked with new or gently-used books appropriate for children ages birth - 3rd grade, in the community where families with young children visit. These books have been donated by community members. Children are invited to take a book home to keep and share!

As we receive gently used and new donated children's books for our Big Red Bookshelf program these books need to be sorted by reading level and packed in boxes for distribution to keep the bookshelves located throughout Portage County full.  This is done in the United Way office in Ravenna.

The Delaware County Historical Society has a newsletter that is distributed to its membership on a regular basis.  We need someone who enjoys writing and has computer skills.  The letter is produced on ConstantContact, so there is a design component, but there are templates available.  If you want experience in writing and designing a newsletter - this is for you

Responsibilities: Assist in running the management suite efficiently and effectively in support of the Regional CEO
Sort, scan and distribute mail
Database management (Microsoft Access) – Board of Directors and Ohio Government Officials
database
Enter board/volunteer hours in Volunteer Connection software and generate monthly report
Assist in the coordination/planning of Board and/or committee meetings, Division/Regional All Staff
meetings, and other events as directed
Scan, track, and monitor contracts: file both hard and soft copies
Provide advanced internet research
E-mail Regional staff on behalf of the Executive Coordinator (as directed)
Inventory control – maintain up-to-date records on office supplies and promotional items for the
region

Time Commitment: Flexible, during business week (Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm)
Qualifications: Ability to handle confidential information
Advanced research capability utilizing the internet and other resources
Effectively communicate with all levels of staff and management in the organization
Willingness to learn new software programs
Skilled Microsoft Office (required): Word, Excel, Access, Outlook; knowledge of Picture Publisher and
Photoshop
Ability to type 50 words per minute
Strong verbal and written communication skills (sample writing will be required)
Proactive and creative thinking

Description

The Disaster Action Team (DAT) serves as the first, on-the-scene, Red Cross contact at the site of a disaster. While not considered first responders in the technical sense, DAT members are typically the first people at a disaster scene who provide comfort and direct assistance to help those who have been affected as they begin the recovery process.

When disaster strikes, DAT members are generally dispatched in teams of two to three people: an experienced DAT Responder and one or more DAT members in training.

Grace Hospice Cincinnati is in need of Veteran to Veteran Volunteers. Our Veterans' hospice experience is enhanced greatly by contact with other Veterans. We have multiple options available for volunteerism!

Have one hour a month to volunteer? Pin a fellow Veteran to honor them for their service to our nation.
Have two hours to volunteer? Help with one of our We Honor Veterans luncheons or ceremonies.
Have 3-4 hours to spare? Visit with a Veteran one on one in their home or nursing home.

Grace Hospice has several patients in the Pleasant Ridge/Norwood areas who are in need of companionship, play cards or games, light help around the house & yard. Do you have an hour a week to help someone in your community? Hospice volunteering is a work of the heart. All training is provided and all background testing is paid for by Grace Hospice. Please, won't you take a few hours a month to help your neighbor?

Some people don’t have anyone to help them make important life decisions. A Volunteer Guardian is a trained, caring advocate and substitute decision maker. As a Volunteer Guardian, you will make a real difference in someone’s life.
While being a Volunteer Guardian is an important responsibility and requires your availability, most find that it can easily fit into their everyday lifestyle.
A Volunteer Guardian serves as the legally-appointed guardian for an adult with a developmental disability. The Volunteer Guardian acts in the best interest of the assigned person, serving as an advocate and substitute decision-maker in the care and management of the person's medical and personal affairs. Volunteer Guardians are appointed by a county probate court. Cuyahoga DD's general counsel guides Volunteer Guardians every step of the way - - through the legal process, formal appointment and anytime there are questions. The person's support team of professionals and direct care provider(s) serve as partners to ensure the person reaches his/her goals.
Volunteer Guardian responsibilities:
• Meet in person with individual at least six times per year. Conduct other activities as needed.
• Have telephone/digital contact with the person and/or care provider (day or residential) to discuss the person's well-being during the months you are unable to make a visit.
• Prepare and maintain records and reports concerning activities with or on behalf of the person you're supporting as required by Probate Court, Cuyahoga DD, and/or other service providers.
• Record service hours online (monthly) spent carrying out your role and responsibilities as a Volunteer Guardian.
• Participate in annual continuing education/training (encouraged and may be required).

How to become a volunteer:
• Be at least 21 years old.
• Complete our volunteer application process including an application, reference check, interview, orientation and background and criminal record checks.
• Complete the required training offered by the Supreme Court of Ohio, available online and in-person.

The Center of Hope is in need of pantry office volunteer to answer the phones and schedule appointments. The schedule for pantry office volunteers is Monday: 9am - 12pm and/or Monday - Friday: 1pm - 3pm.
