Duties: Ensure that military families know they are supported during the critical times of entering the military and preparing for deployment. Support and assist with the full range of client services to military members, veterans, and their families, to include: emergency communications; information and referral; access to financial assistance; and family follow-up services.  

Commitment: 1 day a week with flexible work hours.  

Duties: Provide virtual workshops to military members, veterans and their families. Topics included dealing with stress, coping with depression and managing conflict. 

Qualifications: Must be an independently licensed mental health professional, holding a current & unencumbered license. 

Commitment: Varies based on requests received. 

Duties: Support the collection efforts of the Northern Ohio Blood Services Region by transporting donors to blood driveappointments. 

Commitment: Minimum of 8 hour shift, two times per month. 

With the anticipated hurricanes and the ongoing western wildfires, we have an urgent need for volunteers who are willing to train now and potentially deploy  (14-day commitment) to a Red Cross Disaster Relief Operation.

Compassionate and committed individuals are needed to support sheltering efforts this disaster season. Shelter volunteers support the day-to-day activities within a shelter which may include working in reception, registration, feeding, dormitory, information or other vital areas within a shelter. Are you a licensed healthcare professional? If so, we also have a high need for health care workers to provide assistance and healthcare to shelter residents. Free online training will be provided and you can also obtain your CE credits. Licenses needed include: RN, LPN, LVN, EMT, Paramedic, MD, DO, PA, NP, APRN.

Duties: Every day people are forced from their homes due to fires, storms and other disasters. You can be part of a team that helps and responds to these emergencies. From offering a caring and compassionate ear, to meeting the disaster-caused needs of individuals and households, such as lodging and clothing, and connecting them with long term recovery services, our volunteers ensure that families don’t have to face tough times alone. 

Requirements and Commitment: Must be age 18+, commit to 24 on-call volunteer hours per month and training to serve in the role.

Duties: Blood Transportation Specialists are needed in order to continue delivering lifesaving blood to those in need. Volunteers are needed to drive donations from blood drives to our labs, and from storage facilities to hospitals throughout their community. 

Commitment: Minimum commitment of 2 volunteer shifts per month, 4-6 hours per shift

Duties: Ensure that blood donors have a pleasant and fulfilling experience, from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave.  During a blood drive, whether you’re greeting donors, supporting safety protocols, answering questions or thanking them for their donation, your courtesy and professionalism will create a favorable impression that encourages ongoing donor support.    

Requirements and Commitment: Must be age 16+, commit to 1-2 shifts (4-6 hours) a month. Flexible schedule - volunteers get to choose which blood drives to staff!

It could be many things of your choice. Canned goods, new underwear, toilet paper, pillows, etc. so many options to choose from. You can be a vital part of helping those struggling with poverty and despair. Together we can make an impact on our community!

Village in the Ville is currently looking for handypersons willing to help the aging-population of Clintonville, Beechwold, and the University District with minor home repair and maintenance. Help our Village members fix furniture, appliances, and the like. Or help them with minor home projects, like turning mattresses, changing lightbulbs, and the like.

With Village in the Ville, you're getting as much as you put in. You're not just lending a hand, you're gaining a friend. So many of our volunteers develop relationships with our Village members, to the point that they're no longer providing a service but catching-up, hanging out, and just spending time with their friends.

Give a member of Clintonville's aging-population a ride to a medical appointment, trip to the grocery store, or social event. Help them run errands, like picking up prescriptions or returning library books.

With this experience, you're not just giving a ride, you're gaining a friend. So many of our volunteer drivers develop relationships with their riders, to the point that they're no longer driving to provide a service but to catch-up, hang out, and just spend time with their friends. In this way, you're getting as much as you put in!

An Angel Feet Ambassador is someone who helps promotes and bring awareness about our Angel Feet program and helps collect NEW Socks and NEW tennis Shoes for precious "Angels" around the world.

Missions In Motion International Ministries' Angel Feet program allows groups and individuals to donate NEW Socks and NEW tennis Shoes that will be hand-delivered to those in need. We have visited various parts of the USA as well as developing nations and have seen the need for children whom we call "Angels" to have socks and shoes so they can attend school. The socks and shoes also provide protection from everyday germs and infection. Our Angel Feet program has the amazing opportunity to serve people in the USA as well as developing nations. We get the honor of cleaning the Angels' precious feet, then we put NEW SOCKS and NEW tennis SHOES on them. We have personally seen where just the simple washing of their feet has calmed a crying baby, put a smile on a mama’s face knowing her child now has socks and shoes, as well as a smile on a child’s face! A group of teenage boys were so excited to have a pair of shoes that fit their feet! 

You can also join us on a trip and help wash the children's feet and put new socks and new shoes on them.

Victim Assistance Program (VAP), the leading expert in crisis intervention for victims of crime and trauma in Northeast Ohio, is seeking part time crisis response team volunteers to work various shifts, Monday – Friday 24/7/365 in one of our five Summit County locations, or from the comfort of your own home. The Summit County crisis response team (SCCRT) volunteer provides trauma-informed services to victims, family members and communities, impacted by crisis, violence, or tragedy. The SCCRT volunteer offers immediate crisis intervention and advocacy via phone, chat, text, or in-person to address the aftermath of the client’s victimization.
Crisis Intervention
Even if you haven’t been a victim of crime yourself, you can provide an invaluable service to those facing a crisis or tragedy. What sets you apart from others is your passion, your critical thinking, and the unconditional kindness you will show to those in need.
• Provide support via phone, chat, and text to victims seeking assistance through our 24-hour hotline
• Respond on scene within 30 minutes to provide crisis intervention in the immediate aftermath of a crisis
• Assess and assist clients with their immediate needs
• Engage clients in the NOVA (National Organization for Victim Assistance) model of crisis intervention
• Determine when crisis intervention services have been exhausted and provide information and referrals
• Transition all clients to a full-time advocate for long-term advocacy
• Maintain open communication with the on-call supervisor to debrief after difficult cases

• Conduct an intake assessment, collecting information to allow us to better assist each individual client

• Coordination of services with local law enforcement and court personnel
• Provide criminal justice education and public record case information to victims when able

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT BEFORE APPLYING
All volunteers of Victim Assistance Program must appreciate the potential physical and psychological impact VAP
volunteering may have on their personal lives.
Volunteers may be exposed to situations which could potentially result in physical harm from victims and/or aggressors. In
addition, all volunteers of Victim Assistance Program are required to respond 24/7/365 to the needs of victims of a Summit
County mass casualty which may expose volunteers to hazardous environments.
As our goal is to respond to trauma, we do not engage in prevention, nor do we engage in activism. To ensure every victim
is provided with unbiased support, our agency remains neutral on most social justice issues. We work extremely close with
local law enforcement; we are a pro police agency and expect all our volunteers to strengthen our mission by respecting
the work of law enforcement in our community.
Finally, becoming a member of the Summit County crisis response team is a commitment we don’t take lightly. We are
protective of the clients we serve so we don’t just let anybody help because they have a big heart. Yes, a big heart is key
but, we require ongoing free training to ensure all clients are provided with superior, trauma informed services by someone
who is confident and skilled enough to do so. Volunteers can only build confidence through practice, exposure, and
experience, all three things you will gain while fulfilling your minimum 16 hours of work per month. If you are up for the

We are seeking a personal assistant to work closely with the Executive Director of LifeSmart Education. The volunteer will mainly be assisting with general office duties 2 or 3 days a week.

We are in need of experienced people to help with Marketing our organization. Need experience in working with the media both radio and TV and also the news papers in the Cincinnati / Dayton area's. This is an on going need.

Purpose:  Ensures timely activation and monitoring of local and regional Disaster Team responses. The Duty Officer supports the Disaster Action Team program either at the chapter/territory or region level.

Responsibilities:   Leadership
1. May determine if Red Cross action is required; may decide if Red Cross will respond via DAT.
2. Uses event triggers such as size, scope, and type of the event to direct the DAT response.
3. Works with on-scene DAT leadership to support the response and provide technical guidance.
4. Support and trains new Duty Officers.  

Responsibilities:   Functional
1. Dispatch DAT members and monitor the response to ensure appropriate resources are made
available.
2. Activate Disaster Health Services, Disaster Mental Health, and Disaster Spiritual Care, Public Affairs
when requested.
3. Documents incoming disaster notification and creates & verifies events in RC View, when applicable.
4. Where appropriate, maintains access to and ability to use the Client Assistance System (CAS) to
enter case data and load CACs.
5. May be required to monitor activity across multiple DAT responses.
6. Notify Chapter and Regional staff of significant events, and contribute to an Initial Incident Report,
when appropriate.
7. Attends regularly scheduled team/DAT meetings as required by Chapter/Region.

Volunteer

Purpose:   To serve on a Disaster Action Team as a worker on a DAT response to provide 24-hour immediate support and assistance to individuals and families who have been impacted by a home fire or other local disaster.  

Responsibilities:

1. Works as part of an assigned team to respond to local disasters within two hours.
2. Delivers immediate direct client assistance in accordance with Red Cross standards and procedures.
3. Works with on-scene lead to assess whether additional resources/support are required and
communicates those needs to DAT Leadership.
4. Attends regularly scheduled team/DAT meetings as required by Chapter/Region.
5. Commits to being available during assigned shifts, and communicate scheduling conflicts with DAT
Leadership.

The Shelter Service Associate is a temporary position assigned to work in person in a Red Cross shelter before, during and/or after a disaster event this hurricane/wildfire season.

Shelter Service Associates complete tasks necessary for shelter operations and provide assistance for disaster clients. Shelter Service Associates support the day-to-day activities within a shelter which may include working in reception, registration, feeding, dormitory, information, or other areas within a shelter.

This volunteer position requires minimum 2 hrs a week.  It is a set schedule.  We are looking for friendly individuals who want to help others.   They will do stocking, packing and loading of groceries into vehicles.

Beginning June 8, 2016-August 15, 2016:  Preparing daily lunch for youth and families in need:  Volunteers will begin making sandwiches and salads at 10:00 AM for lunches at Inside Out,  501 S. Wittenberg Avenue.  The food items are placed into brown paper sacks and packed for delivery.  A volunteer will deliver from Inside Out HQ  at 11:45 AM to Ronez Manor Apartments and another volunteer  to Sunset Apartments.  A volunteer is needed to serve the packed lunches at both sites from 12:00-1:00 PM and return containers to Inside Out.   We have a schedule at HQ that volunteers can sign up.

We are looking for volunteers to spend quality time with our residents.  Make crafts, do some making, take them for walks in the beautiful gardens, go on road trips with staff, or even just help residents to and from bingo or on campus church events. 

We are always looking for help to clean up after our events! Clean-up may include: picking up trash, sweeping and mopping the house floor, vacuuming the carpet, cleaning restrooms, or cleaning and restocking concession stand.

Looking for volunteers for different departments.  All volunteer positions are open in these departments: Welcome Center, Groundskeeping, Daycare, Before and After Care and HR.  For the Welcome Center, one of the main volunteer jobs will be scanning membership cards and filing/organizing guest passes.  Two of the main roles for the Groundskeeping Department will be to sweep floors and pick up trash.  Some roles for Daycare will include rocking babies and needing an extra person to play with children.  Before and After Care volunteer jobs would include Attendance sheets that could be counted and Setting up tables for events.  The main role for the HR department is to do office/administrative help.  Come to the Welcome Center at our Champaign Family YMCA for applications about any of our volunteer opportunities.

The Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program of Allen, Auglaize, Hancock, Hardin, Mercer, Putnam, and Van Wert counties has an urgent need for volunteers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The program needs volunteer Ombudsmen to advocate for excellence in long-term care, calling residents and their families to give them a voice in this time of crisis and keep them connected to their advocates. In this region, there are 89 long-term care facilities with 6,249 consumers, isolated from visitors. These calls reveal unheard complaints, concerns, suggestions, and questions from consumers about care. Ombudsman volunteer duties can be performed in the comfort and safety of the volunteer’s home, and free virtual training to certify the volunteer as an Ombudsman will be provided.

Position is responsible for completing both formative and summative evaluations of internal and external community and school‐ based programs and initiatives.  May work with school community and agency administrators, instructional coordinators, building administrators, and teachers to plan and conduct all aspects of these evaluations.

The leading cause of death for teens is traffic crashes. In 2018 in Butler County 11 out of 30 of our fatal traffic crashes were of someone under the age of 25. You can be the difference in someone making a life-saving decision that will help them live past age 25.

Butler County Safe Communities is looking for individuals passionate about making and keeping our roads safer. The ideal candidates are people who have a personal experience or story of being in a traffic crash, surviving a life threatening crash, and/or having a friend or family member who survived or was killed in a crash. We're looking for creative, clever ways to share messages throughout the year that will reach people of all age groups, particularly drivers under age 25 utilizing multiple channels (social media, community gathering, campaigns, events, etc).

Hours/days are flexible.

Our students are required to take part in a reading and math program that are both online and in the classroom. The volunteer would assist the student and the teacher with implementing this program by working with students on the online program. (need of Hispanic speaking volunteers) 

PAWS has a project that is suitable for an Eagle Scout or small team.  This is an unpaid volunteer need.

PAWS supporters have purchased a number of memorial bricks, and we need a person and/or team to do the work of placing them around our Memorial Garden in front of PAWS adoption center.  This project would involve physical labor to dig, lay sand below bricks and put bricks in place.

An amazing program devised to repurpose used markers rather than sending them to landfills.  The ColorCycle program has repurposed more than 70 tons of expended markers in the United States and Canada since 2013.   It uses the most advanced plastic conversation technologies available today to make wax compounds for asphalt and roofing shingles as well as generate electricity that can be used to heat homes, cook food, and power vehicles. 

Lakeland's Project SEARCH students placed collection boxes all over campus and will champion this project.  Please support our efforts by collecting used markers and drop them in the collection boxes.     Don't throw out that marker - ColorCycle it!
