Enjoy canoeing a 2.7 mile stretch of the Portage River with WCPD naturalists. Volunteers will assist with canoe and canoe equipment management, outfitting participants with paddles and life jackets, co-paddling a canoe with a participant or staff member, and positive personal interaction. Some canoe experience preferred. Ability to paddle for roughly two hours is required. Wear weather and water appropriate clothing and closed-toe footwear, as portaging may be necessary (wading in the river while dragging/carrying canoe as a team).
