Title

Child Engagement/Care Volunteer

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and engage children during Families Flourish events and programs
  • Assist with age-appropriate games, crafts, activities, or play opportunities
  • Help create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for children
  • Support positive behavior and respectful interactions among children
  • Communicate with Families Flourish staff regarding needs, concerns, or supplies
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries, safety practices, and confidentiality expectations

Initial Impact

Child Engagement/Care Volunteers help create space for parents and caregivers to fully participate in Families Flourish programming without constant interruption or stress related to childcare needs.

When parents are able to focus, connect, and engage more deeply with staff and other families, stronger relationships and community connections can form. Children also benefit from positive social interaction, engaging activities, and supportive adult attention during events.

Volunteers contribute to creating a more welcoming and accessible environment for the entire family.

Sustained Outcomes

Over time, reliable childcare and child engagement support can strengthen parent participation, relationship-building, and overall program connection within Families Flourish.

Children benefit from positive group experiences, safe adult interactions, and opportunities for play and creativity. Parents benefit from being able to build community, focus on educational programming, and develop stronger support networks with other participating families.

These efforts help reinforce the idea that Families Flourish supports the wellbeing of the entire family — not just individual participants.
