Description

What We Do

Through Adventure Crew, city teens develop the courageous spirit to step out of their comfort zone and discover new worlds - outside in nature, and inside themselves. This deep connection to nature will change the course of their lives, no matter what environment they’re in.

Who We Are

Adventure Crew connects city teens to nature and each other through engaging outdoor adventures. We believe adventure is riding a bike for the first time, feeling mud shift under your boots, or falling over your skis. The outdoors is one of the greatest learning environments of all.

Our vision is to see every city teen inspired by nature - and we need your help to do this!

What You Can Do?

We're looking for dedicated, positive, team-oriented volunteers to assist with Saturday programs at outdoor recreation sites across the region. Opportunities include kayaking, camp days, ice skating, snowboarding & skiing, camp days, field days, and hiking.

We ask for a time commitment of at least one adventure every other month, with typical duration being 4-6 hours. The volunteer process includes indicating interest in volunteering, completing or providing a recent background check, and briefly filling out a volunteer survey, then you're good to go.

To sign up and jump right in, fill out our volunteer interest form here: https://www.adventurecrew.org/volunteer

If you'd like to know more before taking the leap, check out our website  and hear stories from our staff, volunteers, and Crew teens to learn more here: https://www.adventurecrew.org/

We're excited you're joining this Crew of Adventurers!

Inclement Weather Plan: The Program Director monitors weather throughout the week and the closely monitor the day ahead of the event (Fridays) — if weather prohibits the safety of participants, the event will be canceled the Friday before or the morning of Saturday programming. If the day predicts rain with no lightning, we'll most likely still go outside for the Adventure (in most circumstances and Adventures). We want the safety of students, volunteers, staff, and community members to be our top priority, so we'll reschedule as needed to ensure the well-being of everyone.
