Healthy Harvest Corps Summer- Port Clinton

This position supports youth nutrition and engagement through hands-on education and meal service. The member administers weekly healthy snack demonstrations both in person and virtually featuring seasonal produce. Each session highlights a fruit or vegetable, explains its nutritional benefits, and encourages youth to try new foods. Feedback from parents and participants is collected to strengthen programming and increase participation. The member also supports daily operations of the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), including tracking attendance and meal counts, distributing meals, promoting fruit and vegetable consumption, and ensuring proper cleanup. Enrichment activities are provided after meals and through social media to encourage active play and continued learning. Additional responsibilities include maintaining the on-site community garden and leading tours that educate youth and community members about growing food and the importance of local food systems.
