Understanding the Teacher Corps Deadlines:
Here are some things to consider when choosing a deadline for the teacher corps. Choosing the right TFA deadline can significantly impact your application experience and location placement outcomes.
1. There Are Multiple Deadlines to Choose From
- Start an account in our Applicant Center to work on your application at any time and save your work. We offer four application deadlines for each incoming corps year: Main Deadlines: All of our regions and placement communities are open in the first three deadlines, but the most popular can fill up early.
- Critical Needs Deadline: This deadline addresses our regions who still have unfilled openings.
2. Stress Less with an Earlier Deadline
Submitting your application early has significant advantages:
- Preferred Placement: Regions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Some of our more popular locations may stop accepting applicants at later TFA deadlines because they're full. Applying early is important if you have a specific location in mind. There will still be regions available at the later deadlines, but they may not be your first choice.
- Build Community Early: Begin connecting with fellow corps members and your regional network right away.
- Gain Hands-On Experience: Corps applicants accepted at the first 2 deadlines are able to complete an expedited Ignite application process for our Spring Ignite Fellowship and will have priority for sign-up with the matching process.
- Extended Preparation Time: You'll have more time to take certification exams, pre-work before summer training, and potential relocation to a new community.
- Stress Less: Embrace the peace of securing your next step in your career plans!
