We are seeking caring and compassionate individuals to join our team as Veteran-to-Veteran Volunteers, specifically to provide companionship to our Veteran patients. As a Veteran Companion Volunteer, you will offer emotional support, a listening ear, and a comforting presence to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

Visit hospice patients regularly, providing companionship and emotional support. Engage in conversations, listen to patients' stories, and offer a comforting presence.Participate in activities that the patient enjoys, such as reading, playing music, or simply sitting quietly together.Assist with light tasks that contribute to the patient's comfort, under the supervision of hospice staff.Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy and dignity of each patient.Communicate regularly with hospice staff to report on patient interactions and any notable observations.

Qualifications:

Compassionate, empathetic, and patient demeanor.Excellent listening and communication skills.Ability to provide non-judgmental, supportive companionship. Reliability and commitment to regular volunteer visits.

Completion of a background check and volunteer training program provided by Care360 Hospice, the expenses of which are covered by our agency.
