Volunteer: Restock a Little Free Library in Edgerton

We need your help to keep great books accessible to communities 24/7. As a volunteer, you will visit this Little Free Library in Edgerton to check on it and distribute books once a month. This book-sharing box needs young adult books and adult books.

We're looking for a volunteer who can commit to checking on this Little Free Library for 6 months. We can suggest free or low-cost sources of books - or, if you're a bookworm yourself, you can distribute your own.  Approximately 3-4 books per age level may be needed every month. 


Register on our website to get started. After you register, we will send tips and resources. Little Free Library staff and the Little Free Library caretaker (the steward) can answer your questions along the way. 


The flexibility can't be beat: visit the Little Free Library whenever it fits in your schedule, as long as it’s being checked monthly. 


Purpose: By keeping Little Free Libraries filled with books, you are helping to build community, inspire readers, and expand book access.

Book lovers around the world enjoy searching for Little Free Libraries using our app. We need your help to increase the accuracy of our map of book-sharing boxes! 

You can get started in 2 steps: register on our website and then complete a self-paced online training. We will show you how easy it is to use our free app to find mapped Little Free Libraries and report any that are missing. If it's your first time signing up with Team LFL, you will need to create an account in our online volunteer hub.

It’s very flexible: search for libraries whenever it fits in your schedule. For your convenience, you will identify the areas around Cleveland that are easiest for you to visit. This is a solo/independent volunteer activity (unless you recruit friends and family to come with you!). It's a great option for a self-motivated volunteer.

Explore your neighborhood in the greater Cleveland, Ohio area using the free Little Free Library mobile app.If a mapped library is missing, use the app to report it and share helpful notes. (We will reach out to the caretakers of those Little Free Libraries to follow up.)If you find a book-sharing box without a charter sign, leave an invitation to join the Little Free Library network.Tag any Little Free Libraries that need books. 

Time Required: Please complete the Little Free Library visits by the end of December 2025. You can schedule your volunteer time based on your own availability. 

Training & Resources Available: We will help you get to know our organization and share best practices for visiting Little Free Libraries through our self-paced online training. We’ll also mail you printed invitations & envelopes that you can share with unregistered book-sharing boxes.
