Volunteer: South Side Family Farms preparing urban farm for winter production and fall maintenceWe will build hoops for low row cover protection of frost. We will also straw in some beds that have produce growing. Repair waterlines and irrigation system. We will be using battery powered sanders to smooth benches preparing them for stain for overwinter protection. We will have youth from community and the local Columbus City School ,South High school as volunteers. There will some new beds that will be build fand filled with soil for additional youth vegetable production. We will also be planting some Native Prairie Grass Pollinators also. We will work for two weekends on this project. We want this farm to be a place of not only production but of beauty and a place to appreciateate in the community.
