Nature's Nursery Center for Wildlife

WHO WE ARE: Nature’s Nursery Center for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation Education is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Whitehouse, Ohio. We provide medical care to injured, orphaned or ailing wild animals, and conduct conservation educational outreach programs for children and adults. OUR MISSION: “Our mission is to improve the well-being of Northwest Ohio wildlife populations and habitats through public education and rehabilitation, with an emphasis on coexistence.” EDUCATION: Through our community education programming, we reach over 15,000 children and adults through. We use our animal ambassadors to teach the importance of our local wild populations, how to protect their habitats and how best to live in harmony with the wildlife in our own backyards. Started in 1989 by Deb and Dave Cooper, and quickly joined by Laura Zitzelberger our center grew from these 3 friends to over 130 volunteers and 20 staff members.

Nature's Nursery Center for Wildlife cares for sick, injured, and orphaned native Ohio wildlife (specifically Northwest Ohio). We take in over 3000 animals each year through our rehab center. Our education center is open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:00 PM-6:00 PM free of charge. Our education center house our Education Ambassadors and we have docents and staff available to introduce you to all of them during our open hours and special events.
