Who We Are

The Delhi Historical Society, located at 468 Anderson Ferry Road, just west of Cincinnati, Ohio, was founded in 1976 by members of Delhi Township’s American Bicentennial Commission. The society’s mission is to serve as a steward of local history, telling the stories of the people who lived and worked here. It does so by collecting, preserving and exhibiting materials that document the history of the township and its neighboring areas; through educational programs for children and adults; and by maintaining the 1870s Witterstaetter Farmhouse Museum, library, research center, and historic greenhouse.

What We Do

The Delhi Historical Society's primary responsibility is maintaining the 1877 Witterstaetter Farmhouse Museum, managing a large collection of historic artefacts and archival materials, and serving as a free and accessible cultural and educational resource to the Delhi Community. The Witterstaetter Farmhouse Museum is free to any interested member of the public, and includes a typical early 20th century kitchen, an exhibit on Delhi's rich floricultural history, and changing exhibits that have covered topics such as Delhi Chili, Cincinnati's famous bootlegger George Remus, and more! Volunteers at the Delhi Historical Society help to manage the Delhi Historical Society archives and research Delhi's history. The Delhi Historical Society provides free genealogical research for community members, and assists with any other research requests. Outside of the museum and library, the Historical Society designs and hosts community events including a monthly lecture series at the Delhi Community & Senior Center. Lecture topics in 2025 will include Coney Island, Dusty Rhodes' Radio Days, and the Beverly Hills Supper Club Fire.
