Who We Are

Good Neighbor House was founded out of a collaboration of eight Dayton area Seventh-Day Adventist churches who desired to make a difference by helping to meet the needs of the under-served in the Dayton community. So in 1994, the congregations came together to form Good Neighbor House, a nonprofit organization that provides food assistance and household items to under-served individuals and families in the Greater Dayton Region. As the need for affordable healthcare increased within Dayton’s working uninsured community, so did Good Neighbor House’s vision. In 1996, through partnerships and collaborations with various community organizations, GNH established a clinic dedicated to providing medical, dental, and vision services to the working uninsured community. In addition, the clinic offers health education and screenings to under-served families. Today, Good Neighbor House offers a full range of Human and Health Services to the community as we collaborate with many local agencies to assist clients. Our services are in consideration of our neighbors and their needs. We currently offer a Dental clinic, Medical clinic, Eye clinic, Special Dietary Needs Program, Pharmaceutical Dispensary, and a Food Pantry.

What We Do

We serve Montgomery and the neighboring counties of Preble and Greene Counties with a free food pantry that can be visited every two weeks. We offer Health and Wellness Classes for individuals with specified diagnoses such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, smoking cessation, and weight concerns. We have a Medical Clinic for individuals who don't have any medical insurance. And a Dental Clinic for individuals insured by Ohio Medicaid and Managed Care Plans.
