Who We Are

Our Mission: Putting faith into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, community, and hope.

Our Vision: A world where everyone has a decent place to live.

History: 1942 Koinonia Farm (the idea that would one day become Habitat) outside of Americus, Georgia was founded by Clarence Jordan. 1968 Fund for Humanity and the concept of partnership housing are created. 1973 Millard & Linda Fuller take these ideas to Africa. 1976 Habitat for Humanity is formed. 1984 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter join Habitat's efforts. 1988 Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity was started. 1993 Wood County Chapter built its first three homes in Bloomdale, Ohio. 2000 Habitat for Humanity of Wood County became incorporated. 2022 The 50th home in Wood County is built.
