Richard Allen Preparatory

Richard Allen Preparatory (RA Prep) is a public charter school and serves students in grades Kindergarten through Eighth in Dayton, Ohio. RA Prep includes two campuses serving grades K-2 and 3-8. Our talented, dedicated faculty and staff members help our students reach their full potential and more. In addition to grade-level and core content area educators, our staff includes physical education, karate, music, art, character education, and financial literacy teachers. Our Family, Student, and Social Services team serves the schools by coordinating health, wellness, and social services, facilitating communication with and support for families, and sustaining community partnerships across the schools.

The Richard Allen Schools aim to empower students by building their knowledge, skills, compassion, and self-reliance. As students develop and hone their reading skills, they also learn to produce high-quality work and collaborate with their peers in their learning within the EL Education English Language Arts curriculum. Enrichment opportunities include physical education, karate, art, music, and financial literacy. Students also benefit from programming and service partnerships with organizations such as the YWCA, UMADAOP, Mary Scott Nursing Center, and the Law & Leadership Institute.
