Who We Are
The Parma Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Parma CERT offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization those professional responders (Police and Fire Departments) can rely on during disaster situations, allowing them to focus on more complex tasks.
Our program is organized by a local public safety entity and train volunteers for a variety of preparedness activities and support roles to help our community in times of need.
What We Do
Parma CERT was created in 2004 for citizens to learn about emergency preparedness and how they can assist police and firefighters when called upon during an emergency. We are a civic minded organization that trains its members to take care of themselves, their neighbors and their city during emergencies.
